Specialization

Backbase recognizes partner proficiency and competency through Partner Specialization. The program is designed for Backbase Partner Connect (BPC) Members to develop competencies in selling, implementing and/or developing Backbase-based solutions. Specialization belongs to the Competence criteria for becoming a BPC Partner.

Backbase partners achieving Specialization are differentiated in the marketplace through proven expertise in key Backbase solution areas. Customers select Backbase Specialized Partners because they know they have knowledge, skills and experience to help their Backbase projects to succeed. With the BPC Specialization, Backbase partners have the opportunity to earn a specialized status for a particular Product Area:

  • Backbase CXP (incl. Mobile)
  • Backbase DBP

Specialization spans across core Functional Areas:

  • Sales
  • Pre-Sales
  • Certified Implementation (Formal certification in development)

For becoming specialized, partners are bound to pass the respective online assessments (Sales and Pre-Sales) and exams (Certified Implementation) for minimum one Product Area.

Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)

OEM partners have the opportunity to differentiate and enhance their existing offerings by embedding Backbase technology within their products. It is true partnering, because OEM partners take Backbase to the next level through more features and functionality. Moreover, our OEM partner purpose is to enhance partners’ propositions by stretching up their technology and/or applications to, for example, the User Experience level.

More than 10 OEM partners already use Backbase products - such as Backbase CXP, UX toolkits like Launchpad and Digital Banking Services - to build a differentiated solution that it sells under their own company name and brand. This elevates their position to one that also meets needs of end users through an omni-channel user experience solution.

Backbase understands the attractiveness of OEM relationships. However, there are several factors we need to consider before taking the plunge. The Open Banking Marketplace is the platform where 3rd parties can showcase their digital banking capabilities. Currently present are state-of-the-art digital banking apps for Money Movement, Personal Finance Management (PFM), and more. By using Backbase’s modular architecture, banks can easily mix and match services from multiple FinTech providers without worrying about vendor lock-in. Therefore, Backbase launched Open Banking Marketplace; Backbase believes banks and credit unions should have the freedom to innovate. It is the Open Banking Marketplace that showcases multiple innovative banking features that can be easily plugged into Backbase.

Backbase Partner Connect (BPC) Members have access to a wealth of learning resources to prepare for growing their Backbase-based business.

  • Learning Tracks are intended for BPC Members.
  • The Learning Tracks provide the subject-matter expertise in a self-paced (online) learning format that leads to Specialization.
  • Backbase offers Learning Tracks for Sales, Pre-Sales and Certified Implementation professionals. Sales and Pre-Sales tracks include online assessments. Certified Implementation Implementation Specialists require taking a formal exam.

Backbase also requires instructor-led Boot Camps for Implementation Specialists.

Sales Specialist

Pre-Sales Specialist

  • Deliver effective demos and responses to RFPs.
  • Pre-Sales Specializations are completed by an online Assessment.
  • You can differentiate among others by earning an Accredited status. Pre-Sales Specialist individuals achieve Accredited Pre-Sales Specialist status by attending a Partner Pre-Sales Workshop (instructor-led).

Certified Implementation Specialist

  • Certified Implementation Specialist Specializations are completed by a formal certification exam.
  • It is mandatory for Certified Implementation Specialists to attend the Bootcamp (CXP and/or DBP).
