Backbase is growing! As a fast expanding organization, Backbase is working hard to expose its products and services portfolio in the U.S. and Western Europe.
To realize this, the Marketing Department is looking for a Marketing Director who joins the international Marketing team.
As Marketing Director with Backbase in Amsterdam you work with a leading solution provider of Customer Experience software and services. Backbase works for major clients such as ABN AMRO, KPN, ING, Philips, Visa, AIG, EMC, IBM and Vanguard.
The success of Backbase is largely determined by customer-focused innovation towards the end-users of our customers and a strong focus on building long term relationships with our customers. The Marketing team is to build the Backbase brand and to generate new leads.


As Marketing Director at Backbase you are responsible for the management of the Marketing team and thereby responsible for all marketing communication of Backbase.

The Sales and Marketing Team

The Sales & Marketing team in Amsterdam Backbase consists of 9 employees.
As Marketing Director you lead the Marketing team, consisting of:

• An online marketer
• The CEM strategist
• A local U.S. marketer
• The Art Director
• A PR manager (external)

As Marketing Director you will report to the CEO / Sales director.

The Job

• As Marketing Director at Backbase, you are responsible for:
• Determining the marketing strategy and positioning of Backbase, as innovative and leading edge Webtechnology organization, with a focus on Customer Experience.
• Responsible for product positioning together with Product Management.
• Setting up the marketing plan for both Europe and the U.S.
• The budget for marketing in Europe and the U.S..
• Directing and managing the Marketing Team.
• Responsible for "lead generation" in general.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate for this important position of Marketing Director within Backbase has the following profile:

• A HBO / WO degree
• Minimum 10 years experience as Marketing Director in an international environment.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Marketing within a B2B software environment.
• You are energetic, driven and have a hands-on, can do mentality.
• You have a clear vision of how the product and service portfolio of Backbase can be communicated to the market.
• You have extensive experience in directing and managing staff.
• A natural leader
• You are ambitious and have excellent communicative skills in Dutch and English. Both verbally and in writing.
