DESCRIPTION: Backbase is hiring Senior Ajax Consultants to collaborate with strategic clients in the design, development and evolution of mission critical web applications. Our people do a wide variety of work including Ajax training and best practices consulting, design, application development, and performance tuning. Recent projects have included: design and development of an on-line banking application serving millions of customers, a vehicle content management system for the world's leading automotive company, and a state-of-the-art interface for one of the worlds leading Application Lifecycle Management software companies. In this position, you will be a trusted advisor to our clients and will work as part of a larger team to ensure the success of our customers. PROFILE:
Profile #1: Front-end Engineer - masters the client side. Skills: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, XPath, Java/.NET/PHP, 2-5 years.
Profile #2: Java Solution Engineer - leverages standard Java frameworks. Skills: Struts/JSF/Spring, JSP/EL, JavaScript, XML, XSLT, XPath, CSS, 3-7 years.
Depending on your skills and experience, you will start as either Ajax Consultant or Senior Ajax Consultant.
WHAT YOU WILL DO. OR LEARN. OR IMPROVE:
Design. Good software architecture is crucial to everything we do. You will have to deal with topics such as systems and component integration, performance tuning, reusability and maintainability of Ajax software all the time.
Deliver. Execute Proof-of-Concept projects, where everything comes down to just a few weeks of intense teamwork. Define the approach. Work independently. Deal with technical risks early and fast. Define and guard scope and time budget. Be methodological.
Lead. Constantly develop your own ideas on how to take things further. Take responsibility for presentation tier quality in projects. Coach junior colleagues and guide customers. Deal with corporate architects, lead developers and project managers. Become an evangelist for Ajax and Backbase solutions.
Travel. Visit customers and prospects regularly in North America with possible (optional) trips to South America, Europe or Asia.
Communicate. Present your ideas and influence others. Listen well, then clearly speak your thoughts. Be interesting and entertaining, but always seriously to-the-point.
Train. Expert consultants are the best trainers. Stand in front of the class room and educate other professionals.
Share. Contribute your knowledge and experience to our knowledge base. Provide feedback to Backbase Product Development to drive innovation.
