Senior J2EE Developer
Backbase - leader in the market for AJAX technology - is looking for an experienced J2EE software engineer with affinity for AJAX technology to contribute in the design and development of products & modules that integrate Backbase AJAX technology into the Java development and run-time platform.
The right candidate will have a combination of J2EE programming skills and preferably some knowledge of AJAX and DHMTL balancing both font and back end development and a passion for quality on both aspects of development. Backbase offers a great opportunity to use your talents to design and implement generic server-side solutions in a framework that merges AJAX technology with the most popular J2EE technologies:
- Generic J2EE modules that offer a solid infrastructure for RIA applications of the future like the Backbase web 2.0 Dashboard
- Backbase AJAX - JSF integration that synchronizes state between the AJAX client and a Java back-end and allows for developing server-side event handlers for client-side events and extends the common JSF lifecycle.
- Backbase AJAX - Spring & Struts integration that enables the modernization of existing applications introducing advanced user experience with AJAX technology.
Working with an agile process, your objective would be to:
- Contribute in designing of modules
- Hands on development
- Scope and help define deliverables
- Produce design documentation
- Safe-guard the quality of the deliverables
Additionally you will be responsible to educate the quickly growing Backbase developer community through the following possible deliverables:
- Developer documentation such as manuals and references delivered by Programmer/Writers
- Tutorials and technical articles describing Backbase and AJAX best practices
- Demos and code samples that showcase the capabilities of Backbase
- Forum answers, blog entries and FAQs for quick, interactive help
You will work directly with the development manager and the other members of the Backbase Java team at Backbase R&D department located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Requirements:
- 3+ years development experience with J2EE frameworks such as JSF, JSP, Facelets, Struts, Spring, Velocity, Hibernate, Cocoon or similar frameworks
- 2+ years experience in several J2EE application servers
- Good understanding of DHTML (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience with AJAX would be an advantage
- Experience with Xpath is a plus
- Solid understanding of modern product development processes (preferably agile development)
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of MyFaces, Tobago or Tomahawk would be an advantage
