Senior UI/CSS Lead

Backbase - leader in the market for Ajax technology is looking for a senior software developer to lead a talented team of UI developers, deliver a unified library of controls and develop great user centric widgets.

The right candidate will have strong structured DHTML development skills and a passion for designing highly interactive widgets using Ajax technology and the ability to work with a team of motivated and highly skilled front end developers.

Working with an agile process, your objective would be to:

• Act as technical lead to organize the widgets and guide UI development
• Design and build beautiful library of Web 2.0 widgets and components
• Communicate with the team and implement complex CSS solutions
• Scope and help define deliverables
• Produce structured design documentation
• Safe-guard the quality of the deliverable

You will be responsible to educate the quickly growing Backbase developer community through the following deliverables:

• Out of the box UI widgets that allow developers to kick start projects
• Developer Documentation
• Tutorials and technical articles describing Backbase and Ajax best practices
• Demos and code samples that showcase the capabilities of Backbase
• Forum answers, blog entries and FAQs for quick, interactive help

Additionally you are enthusiastic about defining and gathering requirements of the Backbase developer community and developing the Backbase roadmap for Ajax widgets, components and content.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to lead team from technical and project perspective
• Proven track record in developing software products
• Knowledge of and interest in W3C and other web standards and JavaScript
• Solid understanding of agile product development processes
• Ace in CSS, DHTML
• Expert in XPath, XSLT, and XML
• Good understanding of Object Oriented patterns
• Good technical writing skills
• Understanding of single source publishing processes
• Good communication skills
• Experience in at least one server-side scripting language (JSP, ASP, PHP)

The "Senior UI/CSS Lead" is part of the Backbase R&D department and reports directly to the Development Manager.
