Market Development Specialist

LOCATION: San Mateo, California

We are helping some of the most important organizations in the world create rich and highly interactive web 2.0 applications. We are a rapidly growing software company, having doubled revenues each of our first 5 years in business while generating a profit. We are now hiring consultants, sales and marketing people to accelerate our growth and impact on how applications are delivered to end users.

So far our growth has been entirely based on our award winning Enterprise Ajax software Framework which is typically purchased by software development and IT groups. We want to accelerate growth by introducing packaged software and services focused Customer Engagement Applications - Dashboards, Lightweight Portals, Co-browsing, Forms, Customer Grid Interfaces, and more. From a customer perspective, these functions are major elements of On-Line Banking, Retail E-Business, On-line technical support, etc. applications. Effectively designed web applications, delivered on time and on budget are highly valued by line-of-business and senior IT executives. The Customer Engagement market segment represents an opportunity for Backbase sales growth and name recognition to explode over the next 2 years.

SO, WHAT DO WE NEED YOU FOR?

The core Ajax market is fragmented and in its infancy. While our incoming leads are steadily growing, we need to be more proactive to increase the number of new Customer Engagement opportunities based on outbound phone calls coordinated with our ongoing marketing efforts.

THE MARKET DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST WILL:

  • Organize and conduct targeted outbound telemarketing campaigns designed to find active projects where customers are developing requirements, designing or developing
  • Conduct research to identify the names and contact points for key decision makers and influencers
  • Manage our Salesforce.com CRM system to grow our database and to systematically and cost effectively nurture each contact
  • Collaborate with Backbase marketing and sales management to design and execute lead development programs and events
  • Help sales people develop existing accounts and drive revenues
