Backbase Enterprise AJAX for BEA WebLogic & AquaLogic
bea®
BEA Systems, Inc. is a world leader in enterprise infrastructure
software, providing standards-based platforms to accelerate the secure flow
of information and services. BEA product lines — WebLogic®, Tuxedo®, JRockit®,
and the new AquaLogic™ family of Service Infrastructure — help customers reduce
IT complexity and successfully deploy Service-Oriented Architectures to
improve business agility and efficiency. For more information, please visit

Both the Backbase Struts and JSF Edition are optimized for BEA WebLogic 8.1 and higher. By using the Backbase Enterprise AJAX framework, BEA developers can create rich human interaction paradigms that can be hosted on the BEA Weblogic and Aqualogic platforms. The software seamlessly blends into the BEA application development frameworks (JSF and Struts) and SOA solutions (SOAP, XML), delivering the next generation rich user interface technology within any enterprise / service-oriented architecture.

With Backbase, BEA Customers can create advanced user interfaces that take better advantage of existing Java applications and emerging SOA services. While enterprises are making significant investments in exposing their business logic as web services, there is a tremendous opportunity for both business and IT owners to leverage these services with very powerful rich user interfaces that are faster, easier to use, and more flexible. In the end of the day, end-users interact daily with business critical applications and these end-users need to be more productive. Backbase Enterprise AJAX software offers a very powerful ROI booster for any SOA project, by actually consuming services and delivering these services to the end-users. Without enhanced user interfaces many SOA’s will be underused and companies will not achieve the ROI they had planned.
Backbase and the BEA Microservice Architecture (mSA)
Backbase fits perfectly in the BEA microService Architecture (mSA), and shares the core principles and philosophy of SOA and the concept of a Service Network - separation of concerns, modularity and lightweight, as opposed to point-to-point, integration. Since Backbase is designed to be modular by definition, it also will be naturally "blendable" and "re-usable". The application of SOA principles, such as separation of concerns and substitutability, helps to enable the Backbase Presentation Tier to evolve with the needs of the enterprise.
Backbase & BEA - Joint Roadmap
BEA and Backbase and BEA are currently developing a tight integration between
BEA Workshop for JSF (IDE) and the Backbase JSF Edition.
Backbase and Open Industry Standards
Backbase's client technology is fully based on open industry standards (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Xpath, XSLT) and offers strong integration with JSP, JSF, Struts, and Web Services standards such as SOAP, XML and XML-RPC. Backbase developer tools are built on top of Ecipse (plug-ins).
