Backbase Announces New Pricing Model for Backbase Ajax
Targets Enterprise Workgroups and Mid-market Corporations
SAN MATEO, Calif. – March 19, 2007 — Backbase®, the #1 Enterprise Ajax Framework company, today announces a new pricing model for Backbase Ajax, its highly-acclaimed Ajax framework for developing rich user interfaces for Web applications. The new pricing model makes it easier than ever for developers in enterprises or medium-sized corporations to purchase Backbase software.
"Backbase has been enthusiastically embraced by enterprise customers, at the high end of the market" said Jouk Pleiter, CEO of Backbase, "But we also saw a growing interest from medium-sized companies and departmental teams that are looking for a powerful Enterprise Ajax Framework. In order to serve them better we have put forward a more streamlined pricing model."
Under the new pricing model there is a flat fee of $2000 per developer seat for any of the editions of Backbase Ajax. This includes a runtime license for a production Web server with one CPU and a QA/Staging Web server with one CPU. For larger Web applications, additional CPU licenses are available for production servers, and for QA or staging servers.
Backbase Ajax provides 100 Smart Widgets, built upon our renowned Ajax Core Services, which provides them with enterprise quality, consistent behavior, maintainability, performance, extensibility, interoperability with W3C standards, Section 508 accessibility, and proper operation of the back button and bookmarks. Backbase Ajax supports all browsers and Web servers, with deep support for Struts and JSF frameworks—all without requiring any software to be installed on the client-side. It is applauded by experts as the most complete, very best available, and has won many awards including the InfoWorld Technology of The Year Award for 2007.
