NEW FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS:

NEW! Dual API: XML and JavaScript

One of the key aspects of the new software is the introduction of a JavaScript API. In addition to the familiar way of developing with tags (using the XML API), you can now also develop your applications in JavaScript. The choice between XML and JavaScript is purely based on personal preference: they include the same functionality.

NEW! 3rd Party Widget Integration

The new flexible architecture facilitates the inclusion of third party components such as Yahoo UI components, Dojo Widgets, Google components, and more. The new support for third party components is a significant move toward making the different Ajax technologies work together so developers can enrich their applications with the Ajax widgets and components of their choice.

NEW! Accessibility: Section 508 and WCAG

Many web applications nowadays need to be accessible for disabled people, as specified in Section 508 in the US, and in the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Backbase Ajax complies with these guidelines, as explained in the Accessibility Whitepaper.
