Leading retail banking projects through to delivery within Backbase’s design team to become the preferred consumer banking app. A diplomat between the Design team and other stakeholders, advocating for customers, championing human-centric approaches and design thinking.
What you'll do
Fintech is one of the fastest growing markets at present, with an enormous need for talented Product Designers to improve user experiences for customers of banks. Our Retail Banking Product team is at the centre of a global transformation, creating journeys that impact more than 70 million people on a daily basis.
You’ll be a critical member of the team, working directly with the Product and Developer Leads bringing to the table impressive design skills, effective communication and a proven ability to innovate.
In addition to easily traversing the scale between minutia and big-picture, you will be intimate with the end-to-end experience of design objects and how those objects translate into business value.
Managing design projects from beginning to end, and ensuring design efforts meet both customers' needs and business goals will be a key part of your role. As a diplomat, you will have no qualms convincing stakeholders of the efficacy of design principles and the value it brings to the business.
You will also play an active role as a coach and mentor, with the intent of helping junior team members grow, bringing out the best in the design department.
There are currently over 70 product designers and researchers working across the organization, and we are looking for someone who will be a strong addition to our Design team, bringing with them critical thinking, creativity, passion and experience.
Who you are
Do you think you would be a great addition to the Retail Banking team? In order to really excel in this role we think:
●You have 5-8 years’ experience in Product Design;
●You are proficient in design tools, specifically Figma;
●You have extensive experience working in Agile teams;
●You are a disruptor and innovator;
●You’re equally talented in analytics and creativity;
●You’re capable of looking at the big picture and diving into details;
●You are a designer with proven processes and frameworks for complex design problems;
●You are able to solve difficult design problems and create frameworks from these design solutions;
●You continuously explore new practices and patterns for your problem-solving toolkit;
●You’re an excellent communicator, confident writer, and speaker (English essential);
●You’re a designer with an outstanding design portfolio demonstrating wider strategic design thinking in your projects (please include the link in your resume)
