Senior Business Controller

We are looking for a Senior Finance Business Control to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in process improvements, taking responsibility for the quality of their work, and strong understanding of accounting principles (e.g. revenue recognition, accruals).

You will work with key business stakeholders to develop short, medium and long term business plans and manage the P&L by business unit - both on results and on process improvements.

What you'll do

You produce monthly, quarterly and year end closing Management Accounts, prepare and deliver weekly and monthly financial and managerial reports to support the achievement of organizational objectives and analyze variances in sales, margins and cost centers and explore variances/potential problems with line managers.

You undertake forecast variance analysis at agreed intervals during the year in conjunction with budget holders. You provide all budget holders with up to date information in relation to their budgets and make sure they understand the financial information in order to make decisions about future spend.
Moreover, you continuously improve transparency and visibility into key P&L line items and understand the business processes behind these in order to assess the internal control state of these.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Take responsibility for the quality of your work and ensure that it meets the highest standards.
Ensure compliance with ASC606 (revenue recognition) and other relevant accounting standards.
Manage revenue contract management and (billable) time writing.
Work closely with other departments to ensure that financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
Provide support to the finance team as needed.

Who you are

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of experience in finance or accounting.
Knowledge of ASC606 (revenue recognition).
Experience in (billable) time writing and revenue contract management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Functional/technical skills
Strong financial and business analysis skills
Ability to change complex problems with large amounts of data into simple arguments
Advanced IT skills (especially in Excel but also in front end analytical systems)
Ability to translate and summarize financial data into presentations of findings, analyses, and recommendations accessible to all types of users
Business, product and industry knowledge
Good knowledge of subscription based software products
Good knowledge of customer management systems
Good knowledge of working for an international company
