Senior Director Product Marketing

As a Senior Director of Product Marketing, you will drive the global marketing strategy, positioning, and go-to-market plans for our engagement banking platform portfolio, ensuring its successful adoption and growth in the market. As a key member of the marketing leadership team, you will lead our product marketing efforts in the rapidly evolving engagement banking software industry. Together with a team of skilled product marketers, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in order to create a smooth go-to-market motion and drive the success of our products in the market. You are supported by your peers in the marketing leadership team covering brand building, demand generation, field marketing, and marketing operations.

You are a strong advocate for product marketing and work closely with the executive and senior leadership team of Backbase. You are expected to further build and grow a strong product marketing discipline that covers all different aspects of this profession.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive product marketing strategy for our clearly defined value propositions that will position our entire engagement banking platform as a market leader.
Lead cross-functional teams to drive the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring a cohesive and focused approach to product marketing.

Product Positioning
Define and communicate the unique value proposition of our engagement banking platform, solutions, and products to target audiences within financial institutions
Establish and refine product positioning that effectively differentiates our platform in a competitive marketplace.

Messaging and Content
Develop compelling product messaging, content, and sales kit materials to support the sales team and drive demand generation.
Create a content strategy that includes thought leadership assets such as whitepapers, case studies, videos, webinars, and other marketing assets that resonate with target audiences.

Go-to-Market Strategy
Lead the development of go-to-market plans, ensuring effective product launches and driving market adoption.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to create and execute marketing campaigns, including product launches, promotional activities, and lead generation strategies.

Market Analysis
Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and market trend assessments to identify growth opportunities and challenges.
Use market insights and inform the organization in order to influence and ensure Backbase aligns with market demands
Manage and mentor a team of senior product marketing managers fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
Establish clear objectives and key results (OKRs) for the team and provide
regular feedback and professional development opportunities.

Collaboration
Collaborate closely with executive and senior leadership, product management, sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product success, gaining market insights and feedback to shape our collaborative view on market needs and market trends

Who you are

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Proven experience (8+ years out of which at least 3+ years leading a product marketing team) in enterprise B2B software product marketing, ideally in the fintech sector.
Strong knowledge of the financial services and banking industry, with a focus on engagement banking or digital banking solutions.
Track record in developing and executing successful product marketing strategies for complex B2B software products
Demonstrated experience in team management and leadership.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Outstanding communication and presentation abilities.
Highly results-oriented with a track record of successful product launches.
