Global Alliance Director

Worldwide responsibility for creating new alliance engagements and bringing existing alliances to a global strategic level. This is a key opportunity to partner with leading Cloud & Platform partners (e.g. Microsoft, AWS, Google IBM, etc.). You define go-to-market strategies and solution offerings as catalysts for the growth of your partners and the Backbase license business.

What you'll do

As Global Alliance Director you are responsible for:

  • Strategic business planning: analyze the market and recommend target alliances, backed by sound rational, that will have the biggest impact;
  • Conduct executive level, strategic business development with a limited set of global alliances;
  • Craft global go-to-market and solution offerings with Backbase as catalyst for growth. Ability to do the solution design;
  • Create business cases for investments in time, money and resources prior to kick-starting the global engagement;
  • Negotiate pricing, incentive or other commercial schemes and close strategic alliance contracts (with support of Sr. Management);
  • Evangelize Backbase at partner events. From internal events (i.e. Global Sales Kick-Offs and Executive Committees) to partners’ external customer-facing events;
  • Create collateral to sustain Backbase’s category leadership in digital banking.

Who you are

  • Experienced in deal making and passionate about sales and working with cloud and/or Independent Software vendors.
  • Good network and understanding of Financial Services / Banking.
  • Demonstrated success in managing executive relationships with partners and/or customers.
  • Smart, consultative: ability to understand partner business drivers and ability to establish buy-in at all levels. From executive leadership and (sales) management to functional and technical architects.
  • Compelling presentation style to boost the Backbase profile at wide partner audiences: Strong sense of confidence, and clear point of view or in-depth knowledge on your digital banking subject.
  • Bachelor or University degree and look forward to pursuing a career with an international company.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Background in digital agency and/or enterprise software.
  • Understanding of partner ecosystems, the value of digital and omni-channel.
  • Exceptional thought leadership, presentation, and communication skills – both verbal and written (English).
  • Ability to set clear targets and development plans. Set objectives to achieve those targets.
