Senior Account Executive

As a Sales Director, Nordics at Backbase, you'll be instrumental in driving revenue growth and exceeding sales quotas within your region. This is a chance to truly own the sales cycle from start to finish, focusing on high-value, complex deals (over $1 million) with leading banks and financial institutions across the Nordics. You'll collaborate with a diverse team of experts, from demand generation to pre-sales, to craft compelling solutions and close significant opportunities.

Backbase offers a compelling opportunity for talented "hunter" sales professionals ready to operate in the champions league of enterprise software sales. We're seeking senior sales professionals eager to work with leading banks worldwide, consistently closing deals exceeding $1 million. As a Sales Director, Nordics, you'll manage your own sales quota within our regional sales team, reporting directly to the Regional Sales Vice President. Your core responsibility will be developing and converting new opportunities into successful, long-term customer relationships specifically within the Nordic market. You'll work in close collaboration with Inside Sales Representatives, Solutions Engineering consultants, and our professional services organization. This role also involves fostering strong partnerships within the Nordics to identify and qualify new sales opportunities and manage the pipeline effectively.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Maintain strong relationships with prospects throughout the buying cycle.
  • Work closely with our value consultants to build compelling business cases and value stories.
  • Collaborate with pre-sales experts on RFPs, deep dives, pitches, and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
  • Develop active partner relationships in the region that generate new software business.
  • Facilitate alignment between partners and the Backbase sales team for account targeting and joint license and service wins.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A solid track record of 10+ years in a relevant quota-carrying role within enterprise or SaaS software sales, with a clear focus on new business acquisition.
  • A proven history of achieving and exceeding set sales targets; you're a true "closer."
  • The ability to develop strong relationships quickly and communicate effectively at all levels, including C-level executives within prospect organizations, with partners, and internally across the business.
  • A digital-minded and tech-savvy approach, with a great understanding of the business value of digital and omnichannel customer interactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate the business value of complex enterprise technology.
  • Experience in leading and presenting to C-level executives, becoming a trusted advisor.
  • Availability to travel (30%-50%), particularly within the Nordics.
  • Solid industry experience and relevant work experience in (or selling to) the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of the Nordic market landscape.
