Senior Mobile QA Engineer - Business Banking
We’re hiring for a Senior QA Engineer with a focus on mobile to join our Business Banking value stream. You’ll work closely with the Mobile teams to make sure that the consolidated mobile apps are performing optimally on both the Android and iOS platforms. As an individual QA contributor within one of our development teams, you implement the test strategy and our toolset according to the QA Guild guidelines and perform a key role in the continuous delivery of our world-leading digital banking solution to mobile devices.
What you'll do
Day-to-day you will be hands-on testing new features on different test levels (integration, system, functional, regression, exploratory testing), write and/or conduct test plans with schedules and dependencies, as well as carry out manual and automated tests. You are responsible for automated tests for mobile components of Backbase.io and supporting demo environments with native/hybrid mobile apps with industry-standard testing tools and scripting languages. You will also produce defect metrics and reporting on the full QA process.
QA Engineers are part of a wider craft guild that ensure we deliver quality solutions during the entire development cycle of our products. This particular role will oversee QA practices for a suite of tools that our entire customer, partner and colleague landscape relies on. As an active member of the QA Guild , you will participate in internal QA goals such as training new hires and the evaluation of new tools and processes.
● Developing, enhancing and executing tests for both Android and iOS platforms
● Developing and maintaining mobile test automation with Espresso for Android and XCTest for iOS
● Executing non-functional testing (e.g. performance and accessibility)
● Promoting quality assurance in your team by owning the testing process and making quality an important deliverable
● Participating in the team by refining and estimating user stories, planning sprints, daily stand-ups and retrospectives
Who you are
You have a proven track record as a Senior Mobile QA Engineer in a fast and dynamic environment. We hope you have a keen interest in taking your career to the next level with a potential interest in exploring leadership and strategic opportunities within the QA Guild in the future. To really take this role to the next level, we think you’ll need:
● You have experience writing test scripts capturing all the scenarios which resources-constrained mobile devices may bring
● You have hands-on mobile automation testing experience; Espresso & XCTest is preferred, alternatively Appium or SeeTest
● You have hands-on coding experience with Java and Swift; experience with JavaScript is a plus
● You understand the SDLC process and its application with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins and GoCD)
● You have an understanding of exploratory testing and when to apply it
● You have a proactive approach allowing you to be self-providing and quick learning, in order to mitigate impediments
● You have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
