Senior Legal Counsel

As a Senior Legal Counsel you provide legal support and advice to the business (e.g. to Sales, R&D, HR, Finance, Compliance, Recruitment and Marketing) and work closely with the sales teams and support them in the bidding processes and commercial negotiations in different time zones. In deals you know how to balance between commercial and legal stakes. You are able to make good judgement calls and you are proactive in driving the negotiations to a success. For certain legal risks or blockers you will discuss with the VP Legal.

What you'll do

You will be drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial and technology contracts, including software license agreements, distribution/resell agreements, consultancy agreements, professional services agreements, project implementation and reviewing other commitments for potential risks and liabilities. In addition, you will protect the software and IP from illegal use. You are able to promote taking certain calculated risks, together with the VP Legal you advise the senior management (CFO, CEO) on complex issues and you manage outside counsels when needed.

You will also be involved in streamlining processes in a fast growing organisation and you pro-actively and independently propose ways to improve the services that the Legal department provides. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you have regular meetings with other Legal team members as a group. You may occasionally provide guidance to the other Legal team members, assuring smooth support for the business and to facilitate their development as a legal counsel.

Who you are

● Minimum of 8 years of experience as an attorney-at-law and/or as an in-house legal counsel in IT/software/technology industry;
● University degree in Law of a major jurisdiction (Master's degree (LLM) required); For USA: JD and bar registration;
● Postgraduate in IT law is preferred;
● Excellent English speaking, writing and presentation skills.
