The Opportunity: Lead the Future of Banking
At Backbase, we are on a mission to redefine how the world interacts with digital banking. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of high-impact products across our global platform. This isn't just a role about managing a backlog—it’s about owning a narrative, leading cross-functional squads, and delivering AI-enabled solutions that drive measurable value for millions of users.
Together with the Engineering Manager, you form the leadership of the squads. While the EM focuses on timely delivery and technical quality, you are responsible for defining what we build, for whom, why, and in what order. At the same time, you ensure the product and its features are effectively showcased - through product demos, presentations, and marketing materials - owning the narrative from concept to go-to-market.
What you'll do
- Define the Vision: Own the product roadmap from end-to-end, ensuring every feature aligns with our long-term digital banking strategy.
- Drive Strategic Execution: Form a leadership duo with an Engineering Manager to lead agile squads, balancing technical quality with a relentless focus on "the why."
- Be the Face of the Product: Represent your product in high-stakes customer meetings and demos, owning the narrative from initial concept to go-to-market.
- Turn Insights into Action: Translate complex market trends, user data, and client feedback into prioritized, high-impact product requirements.
- Collaborate Without Boundaries: Work across departments to eliminate jargon, cut unnecessary features, and focus on what truly matters to the customer.
Who you are
- The Veteran: 8+ years in software development with at least 5 years of Product Management experience in Fintech, Banking, or Digital Platforms.
- Strategic Execution: A proven track record of launching and iterating on complex mobile, web, or API-based products in agile environments.
- AI-Enabled Leadership: Experience leveraging AI to enhance product capabilities and drive user engagement.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at the executive level.
- People Management: Proven experience managing people and guiding cross-functional teams toward a shared goal.
