As a Principal Solutions Engineer at Backbase, you’ll be a strategic force, leading our most complex and high-stakes customer engagements. You're not just selling a product; you're co-creating the future of digital banking with C-level executives and senior stakeholders.
What you'll do
- You'll be the technical and business anchor for major deals, crafting solutions that solve our clients' most pressing challenges while also mentoring a team of talented Solutions Engineers. Your expertise will bridge the gap between technical possibilities and business outcomes, ensuring Backbase is positioned as the essential partner for financial institutions looking to innovate.
- Lead the technical solution strategy for complex, high-value customer accounts.
- Deliver compelling, executive-level product demos that showcase the Backbase platform's full potential.
- Mentor Senior and Junior Solutions Engineers, helping them grow their skills in solutioning and stakeholder management.
- Influence the competitive strategy for major deals, positioning Backbase as the clear choice.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Services teams to ensure seamless customer engagements.
- Take ownership of complex proposals and RFPs, clarifying our value for senior decision-makers.
Who you are
- We're looking for an entrepreneurial and strategic thinker—someone who's not afraid to tackle the most challenging problems and lead by example. You have a deep understanding of enterprise software, and you're ready to share your knowledge to help both our clients and our team grow.
- Demonstrable expertise in enterprise software architecture, including mobile and web technologies.
- A strong understanding of modern architectural patterns like containerization, microservices, and API gateways.
- Experience creating solutions within the financial services industry, particularly for banking.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Java, Spring, Angular, iOS, Android, and Kubernetes.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, with the ability to engage senior-level stakeholders.
- A "can-do" mentality and the courage to learn, share, and lead.
