(One Support) FinOps Specialist
We opened the doors of our Business Development Centre (BDC) in the heart of Hyderabad in December 2020. Nestled in the middle of Hyderabad, the state-of-the-art building sits amidst other global brands. The location offers stunning views of hills and lakes, while nearby there is a selection of restaurants, traditional bazaars, and other cultural hotspots.
We are seeking a FinOps Specialist to manage and optimize cloud financial operations for our banking SaaS platform, serving ~50 financial institutions. This role will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, transparency, and sustainable cloud operations. You will collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, product, and finance teams to model and monitor cloud spend, drive optimizations, and ensure alignment between cloud investments and business outcomes.
What you'll do
- 1. Cost Reporting & Transparency
- Prepare detailed, accurate monthly cost reports for customer environments across multiple Azure / AWS subscriptions.
- Work with our finance team to continually improve cost and revenue control and invoicing and cross-charging processes.
- Provide a detailed breakdown of costs across various buckets such as Azure cloud, Databricks, Elastic Cloud, Grafana.
- Attribute cloud costs to revenue streams and highlight variances for actionable insights.
- Provide cost forecasts, trend analysis, and recommendations to leadership and finance teams. 2. Cloud Cost Optimization
- Analyze Azure and AWS consumption across ~50 client banks, identifying cost drivers and optimization opportunities.
- Implement cloud cost allocation/tagging models per bank, product, or environment.
- Recommend and implement optimization levers such as reserved instances, autoscaling, storage tiering, and savings plans.
- Optimize spend on Grafana (observability costs, ingestion/storage policies), Databricks (cluster utilization, job scheduling, storage tiers), and Power BI (dataset refreshes, capacity planning, licensing models).
- Build dashboards and alerts for spend anomalies, budget thresholds, and efficiency KPIs. 3. Vendor & Contracting Engagement
- Support negotiations with cloud vendors (Microsoft/Azure, AWS) and platform providers (Grafana, Databricks) for pricing, credits, and enterprise agreements.
- Support product and engineering teams in modelling cloud, infrastructure and other third party costs associated with their solutions to support technical decision making and market pricing of products and services.
- Identify creative contracting and licensing models to reduce overall infrastructure spend.
- Keep up to date with evolving Azure/AWS pricing models, discounts, and incentives. 4. FinOps Practice & Governance
- Promote cost-awareness and FinOps best practices across engineering, DevOps, and finance teams.
- Define and track KPIs for cost efficiency, ROI, and operational savings.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, cloud governance policies, and reporting standards.
- Partner with DevOps/Engineering to embed cost-conscious practices in design and deployment decisions.
Who you are
- 3–6 years of experience in cloud financial management, FinOps, or cloud operations (Azure required, AWS exposure preferred).
- Prior experience in a relevant finance or procurement function.
- Strong understanding of Azure and AWS services, pricing models, and billing structures.
- Hands-on experience implementing FinOps frameworks including cost allocation, optimization, and forecasting.
- Hands-on experience in optimizing costs on Grafana, Databricks, and Power BI.
- Analytical skills with experience in Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, and BI/reporting tools.
- Fluency in the financial impacts of technology including SaaS, Cloud Native software, Security, Compliance and Artificial Intelligence
- Ability to translate complex technical spend into business and financial insights.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills – able to work with engineers, finance, and executives.
- (Preferred) Experience in SaaS or financial services hosting environments. Why Join Us?
